Kosmos Data Advisory is the trading name of KOSMOS SOLUTIONS LIMITED, a small consultancy that helps organisations in the UK and beyond plan, build and run their cloud data platforms. You will usually find us somewhere between a finance team that has stopped trusting last month's numbers and a data team that has inherited four warehouses and no clear owner for any of them. That is the ground we work on.
Our work is deliberately narrow. We specialise in cloud data platform strategy: choosing the right warehouse or lakehouse, designing ingestion and transformation layers, setting up governance and access controls that people will actually follow, and getting cloud spend under control before it becomes a board-level problem. We do not sell licences, and we do not resell anyone's platform, so the advice you get is based on what fits your estate rather than on what a vendor would like you to buy.
The people who design your platform are the people who deliver it, which is how we prefer to work. That means fewer handovers, shorter feedback loops and no gap between the strategy document and the thing your engineers end up maintaining. You stay involved throughout, and we are honest when a simpler approach will serve you better than the ambitious one on the slide.
Much of our time goes on the unglamorous parts that decide whether a platform lasts: naming conventions, data contracts, cost tagging, retention rules and a clear line between what your team owns and what we hand over. We would rather spend a week getting those right at the start than spend a year unpicking them later, and you will see that preference in how we scope every piece of work.
